Mr. Richard E. Bourget, of Raynham, died Monday, March 12 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Carreaux) Bourget. He was born 77 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Wilfred and Rolanda (Paille) Bourget. He was educated in Raynham, where he lived for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a stationary engineer at the Bridgewater State College for 33 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, restoring antique cars, and working in his garden and yard. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 3 sons: Wilfred Bourget and his companion, Donna Corcoran of Stoughton, John Bourget and his wife, Dawn of Middleboro, and Mark Champagne of Raynham; 4 daughters: Theresa Rondelli of Travers City, Mich., Marie Perry of Taunton, Donna Joyce and her husband, Phil of Cornwell, Vt., and Joan Baily of San Jose, Calif.; 1 brother: Norman Bourget and his wife, Sandy of Bradford, Vt.; 1 sister: Jean Magen of Taunton, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Richard was also the brother of the late Robert “Buster” Bourget of Raynham.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Friday, March 16 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Church, Raynham, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
