BROWN, Antoinette Charlotte (Kowalczyk) Of Dedham, passed away peacefully on Monday March 12, 2012. Antoinette had just completed a brief visit with her husband Charles and four children at her family home built by her parents the late Stanley and Catherine Kowalczyk. She was 92 years old. A life-long resident of Dedham, Antoinette (Tenny) was born on September 20, 1919.
Antoinette graduated from Dedham High School in 1939 where she was an avid reader, sang in the choir, was involved in school theatrical productions, and held a special passion for playing basketball and running track for which she received recognition for a record-breaking standing broad jump. Antoinette's interests included the visual arts where she received awards in school for drawing. After graduation, Antoinette worked at Hayes Bickford in Boston and later at Rust Craft Greeting Card Company in Dedham. On June 26, 1949 Antoinette married Charles J. Brown. A loving wife and devoted full-time mother, Antoinette's greatest pleasures and accomplishments were creating a loving, caring home for her husband and four children. A devout Catholic, Antoinette attended St. Adalbert's Polish Parish in Hyde Park, where she was married, and was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption in Dedham.
Antoinette leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life, her husband, Charles J. Brown (Dedham), her children, Georgia Petrasko (Chatham), Dr. Charles S. Brown (Newton), David Lloyd Brown (Boston), and Theresa B. Inman (Naples, FL); her adored 6 grandchildren, Jason S. Brown, Julia N. Brown, Michael J. Brown, Eric A. Brown, Sabrina A. Brown, Stephanie N. Brown; her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Antoinette was pre-deceased by sisters Catherine (Stacia) Grzyb (Brewster), Mary Skulski (Dedham), Blanche Morrissey (Falmouth), and her brothers, Stanley Kowalczyk (Dedham), Edward Kowalcik (Dedham); nephew George Grzyb (Dedham), nieces Irene Wildman (Norwood), and Cynthia Kowalczyk (Dedham), and great nephew Michael Grzyb (Dedham). The Brown family would like to thank the staff and administration of Hebrew Senior Life (Roslindale), Hospice of North Shore, and all the caregivers for their care and support of Antoinette.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. DEDHAM Friday at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 420 High St. Dedham at 9AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 5-8PM. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
