NEW BEDFORD — Elsie V. Bettencourt, 88, of New Bedford, died March 10, 2012, at the Oaks Nursing Home. She was the widow of William Bettencourt, mother of the late Donald, David and Michael Bettencourt, grandmother of the late Lance Bettencourt, and sister of the late Cecilia Mello.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Gomez of Dalhart, Texas, and Dianne Mitchell of New Bedford; a special niece, Pat Gata; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Thank you so much to the dedicated staff on the Maplewood Unit who loved her and took great care of her. She also loved you. Thank you to Amy who was a tremendous help. To her friends who lost contact with her, we send our love. She truly loved the Lord.
And Mother, so it goes, till we meet again.
Cremation will be private.
