Obituary

Irene R. (Taylor) Brayton, 76, of Dartmouth, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Gardner P. Brayton.


Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Archie and Annette (Massicotte) Taylor, Mrs. Brayton lived in Dartmouth for her entire life. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford. Mrs. Brayton had many good times at the Russell Mills Engine Co. and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.


Including her husband survivors include 3 sons: Gardner P. Brayton, Jr. and his wife LouAnn of Dartmouth, Curtis A. Brayton of ME and Tim B. Pimental of Dartmouth; 1 daughter: Debra A. Gautesen and her husband Tom of ME; 9 Grandchildren: Nathan and his wife Sarah, Kendrin and her husband Mike, James, Julia, Rita, Kristi, Megan and her husband Mark, Kaylee and her fiancé Steve and Karysa; 10 Great-Grandchildren: Gabby, Jaedyn, Alexis, James, Ella, Cadence, Bryson, Billie, Cole and Ali; and several nieces and nephews.


The family would like to give a very special thanks to Christine Gallop and Carol Campbell and also to the caring nursing staff at St. Luke’s Hospital.


Funeral to which family and friends are invited will be Friday, March 16, 2012 at 8:30 A.M. at the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, MA followed by a Mass at Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford at 10:00 A.M.


Calling hours will beThursday from 4:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Burn Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
