Clare A. (Fisher) Carlson, 93, of Worcester, Massachusetts passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Knollwood Nursing Center in West Boylston. She leaves her daughter, Joan M. Faulk and her husband Roger E. Faulk of Windsor, Connecticut; her son H. Kenneth Carlson and his wife Gayle T. Carlson; her son Stephen J. Carlson; and her step-daughter June A. Stewart, all of Worcester. Clare leaves 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her husband Harold G. Carlson passed away February 1, 1991. Clare was predeceased by her sisters Mary Coffey and Ann Maloof, and her brothers Joseph and Robert Fisher. Her brother John died as an infant.
Clare was born on January 3, 1919 in Framingham, Massachusetts to Clare M. Murphy and Walter J. Fisher. She spent most of her life in Worcester, graduating from Commerce High School in 1937. Clare worked as a hostess/manager in many area restaurants. Her last 25 years were spent working at Nick's Grill on West Boylston Street. For more than 50 years, Clare was a member of Epworth United Methodist and was the oldest member of the congregation.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 18 at 1 pm in Epworth Methodist Church, 64 Salisbury Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.
