James H. Brady, 82, of Plainfield Pike, died Sunday at RI Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Rita M. (Wilkes) Brady. They were married for 58 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late John H. and Loretta (McCann) Brady he had lived in Scituate for 36 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr Brady was a Policeman for the City of Providence before retiring in 1986. He had also been a Policeman with the RI Capitol Police retiring in 1996.
Besides his wife he leaves his children, Patricia A. Gablinske and her husband, Douglas and their daughter Lauren of Bristol, Kathleen M. Salois and her husband Rene and their children Danielle, Nicole and Mary Beth of Glocester, Ann R. Andreozzi and her husband Frank and their children Justin and Jared of Barrington, James H. Brady and his wife Ellen and their children Kevin, Michael, Christopher and Timothy of Scituate, Mary Ann Brady of Johnston, Margaret M. Rogerson and her husband Glenn of Greenville and John T. Brady and his wife Justine and their children Matthew and Michaela of Charlestown, and great-grandchildren, Brendan, Hailey and Isabelle. He was the grandfather of the late Derek Gablinske and brother of the late Loretta Brady, Mary Postle and Rachael Anderson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Burial with Military Honors will be in the RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Tuesday 4-8pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
