Loving Mother, Grandmother
and Great Grandmother
(nee Ruddy) 101 years old, of North St. Paul. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Bernice grew up on a farm in Beardsley, MN, graduating from Beardsley High School in 1929. As the youngest of nine children, her six brothers & two sisters called her "Dolly". She graduated from St. Joseph's Nursing School in St. Paul, MN in 1932 with a RN nursing degree and worked for a short time at St. Joe's Hospital & later worked at Hamm's Brewery as a nurse in their medical department. Preceded in death by granddaughter Jenny Bygness & many family members. Survived by daughters Bernice Henschell (Chuck), Rosemary DeLaRosa & Pat Gavilan, along with 9 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren. Bernice will be remembered for her love of family & friends, her sense of humor and her twinkling Irish eyes. Mass of Christian Burial Monday (3/12) 10:30 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., North St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Private interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN.
