Worcester - June A. (Lindquist) McMahon, 71, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She leaves her beloved husband of 52 years, George S. McMahon, Sr.; two sons and one daughter, George S. McMahon, Jr., and his wife Vickie of Shrewsbury, Steven G. McMahon and his wife Cheryl of Rockland, ME, and Melissa A. (McMahon) Tooley of Oxford. She also leaves three sisters, twin sister - Joyce Bellerose and her husband Leonard, Phyllis DeNitti, and Virginia Samra and her husband Raymond, her brother-in-law, William J. McMahon and his wife Nancy; 9 grandchildren, Christopher G. McMahon, Brittany Ann Ladue, Nicholas V. McMahon, Christopher R. Pierson, Patrick M., Caitlin E., and Shayla T. McMahon, and James A. and Jacob A. McCleery; 3 great-grandchildren, Emma Shorette and Evelyn and Annabelle Ladue; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Philip Lindquist and brother-in-law Michael DeNitti.
June was born in Worcester, daughter of Anna (Hunter) and Gustaf Lindquist. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Along with raising her children, she worked for WPI in the University Relations department. June enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, listening to music, and traveling.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 9, from 5-8 pm at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. The service will be on Sat., March 10, at 10:00 am at Nordgren's. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.
