Earl Graham, 80, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 10 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Ronny Griner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Graham was born August 21, 1931 in Cochran to the late Herman and Tynie Phillips Graham. He was a 1950 graduate of Chester High School in Chester, GA and moved to Fitzgerald in 1978 where he owned/operated Auto Line Front End Service. Mr. Graham was retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving more than 21 years. He served during Korean and Vietnam Wars with tours in six states and four countries and was awarded ten metals or ribbons. While stationed at Guam his unit was in support of the B-52’s. He was also stationed at Turner Air Force Base and was a former resident of Warner Robins, where he worked for Willis Alignment Shop. Mr. Graham was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, the Air Force Sergeants Association # 451 in Albany, the Retired Enlisted Association and a former member of the Colony City Lions Club.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy & John Wynn of Snellville; brother, Charles E. (Helen) Graham of Cochran; sister, Erma Dykes of Dexter as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Shepherd Graham, son, Billy Earl Graham, brother, Wyndell Graham and sisters, Berdie Ruth Riner and Dorothy Neir.
