Taunton, Carlos A. DeJesus Jr. a long time Taunton resident died March 5, 2012 at Morton Hospital and Medical Center at the age of 52 He was born in Manati, Puerto Rico. Loving son of Lucy (Sierra) DeJesus and the late Carlos A. DeJesus Sr. He was educated in Taunton Schools, He worked as a Construction Worker. While growing up he played Basketball and Baseball, he was a member of the YMCA and the Boys Club. Carlos started training for boxing in 1993, He was managed by Charles Rose. On his birthday in 1995 he won the Local New England Light Heavy Weight Championship. He fought in boxing tournaments all over the world, He held the New England Hispanic Middle Weight Crown until late 1995, He retired in 1996 as the New England Cruiser Weight Champion. In addition to his mom he is survived by his son Carlos DeJesus III of NJ, two brothers Jorge DeJesus of Florida, Michael DeJesus of Florida one sister Marilyn DeJesus of Florida he was predeceased by one sister Virgen DeJesus. He also leaves behind two granddaughters and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and cousins. His Funeral Service will be held Friday at !0:00am at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church Relatives and Friends are invited to attend visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8pm.
