Obituary

April 1, 1955 – March 5, 2012

White, James D. “Seamus” of Quincy, passed away March 5, 2012 at 6:00PM

Beloved son of James and Dorothy, James was the oldest of nine children. James was born in Columbus, Ohio with a pen in one hand and a stack of index cards in the other. He lived most of his life in the Boston area with the greater part in Quincy.

For those of you who knew James (Seamus), he had a bit of a rough exterior. For those of you that who knew him well, knew he did had a soft side and it was a touching moment when he would let it sneak out. He was always looking out for the family. He employed five of his siblings as they migrated from West Virginia to Boston; He played Santa Claus for his nieces at Christmas for the past 23 years and for his siblings prior to that; He always made it a point to make sure his family was around for his birthday; and when his nieces and nephews were younger he would escort the clan to the annual Irish Festival.
Seamus loved Ireland and visited with his friends some years ago. It only seems fitting that his final resting place be the land that he loved so much.
James would have been celebrating his 57th birthday on April 1st. We have never seen him shed a tear. I am sure tears are not what he would want. So, on April 1, 2012 let’s all think of Seamus and tip a glass of Guinness in his honor.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal”
