Obituary

CHICOPEE - Cecile M. (Richard) Gregoire, 80, a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, March 4, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life at her home in Belchertown surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers from Mercy Hospice. She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on November 3, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Leon and Anita (Pelissier) Richard. At a young age, her family moved to Holyoke where she was raised. She attended the former Immaculate Conception Elementary and High Schools and lived in the city for many years before moving to the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1955. She previously worked at Ren Electronics in South Hadley and had last worked at the MicroTek Company in Chicopee and retired in 2007. During her leisure time, Cecile enjoyed many of the area bingo games and truly enjoyed going to the casino. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always ready for a good game of cribbage. She adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Roland F. "Raleigh" Gregoire, who was Called Home on July 1, 2007. They were married at the former Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke on February 23, 1952 and were blessed with over 55 years of happiness together. Besides her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by: her loving son, Kenneth J. Gregoire who was Called Home on Christmas Day, December 25, 1989; her loving son-in-law, Timothy Robitaille, who was Called Home on August 2, 2007; her dear brother, Donald Richard; and her dear sister, Irene Beauchemin. She leaves: her loving children, Denise M. Robitaille of Chicopee, Richard R. Gregoire and his wife, Doreen Gregoire of Warren, MA and Pauline A. Quirk and her husband, James Wilbur Quirk of Belchertown; her nine cherished grandchildren, Keith Robitaille and his wife, Sara, Lisa Beauregard and her husband, John, Kristen Pike and her husband, Michael, Danielle Robitaille and her fiancé, Greg Smith, Tiffanie Gregoire and her fiancé, Michael Maiers, Ryann Gregoire and her fiancé, Rob Bernier, Brian Quirk and his fiancée, Victoria Arthur, Michael Quirk and Kaitlin Quirk; her seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Robitaille, Brianna Beauregard, Kaylee Beauregard, Taylor Boutin, Jaedyn Pike, Isabella Pike and James Bernier; her dear brothers-in-law, Joseph Gregoire of Chicopee and Lawrence Gregoire and his wife, Carla of Whatley, MA; her dear sisters-in-law, Lucille Thorpe of South Hadley, Simonne Normand of Belchertown, Lorraine Coulombe and her husband, Ronald, of Chicopee and Cynthia Gregoire Curran of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, March 10, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
