Mary E. Baker, 81, formerly of 7 High St. Belmont, died February 21, 2002 in the Laconia Center, Genesis Eldercare Network. She was born in Redstone, NH on Sept. 9, 1920, the daughter of Alfred and Caroline (Collins) Rancourt. She had resided in Belmont most of her life.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as an attendant at the Laconia State School and Training Center for more than 20 years.
Her husband, Harold Winn Baker died in April 1993.
Family members include two daughters, Judith A. Maheu and her husband Roland L. Maheu of Laconia and Jeri-Lou Poirrier and her husband, Roger “Pete” Poirrier of Laconia; a son, John N. Baker and his wife, Erly H. Baker of Belmont; seven grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the family lot in Union Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia NH 03247. The Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. is in charge of arrangements. David L.
