Methuen, MA. George V. Dalton of Haverhill, MA died peacefully on Saturday, March 3rd at the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Lawrence on November 27, 1941 to the late James and Esther (Harlow) Dalton and lived in the area all of his life. He was educated in the Lawrence school system and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1959. He worked for many years in the construction industry until 1990. He was an avid bowler and bowled in several duckpin and candlepin leagues throughout the Merrimack Valley. He was also an avid golfer and member of Crystal Springs Golf Club in Haverhill for 15 years. He enjoyed owning harness race horses, playing bridge in No Andover and Woburn, Ma, but most of all he enjoyed being with family and friends.
He is pre-deceased by his brothers James and William Dalton
He is survived by his wife Suzanne (Custeau) of Haverhill. Sisters Mary Lou and husband Donald Pappalardo of Methuen, Winifred and husband Joseph Ross of Haverhill and Eileen Galeazzi of Raymond, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews who all loved and will miss their uncle
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00 -9:00 pm at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence. Service to be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence
