WORCESTER-Margaret E. (Graham) Duffner, 84 of 39 First Street, died Monday, April 5th in St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves her husband Edward J. Duffner, 3 stepdaughters Mary E. Plante, Cecilia A. Iwanski, and Ann C. Gilligan, all of Dudley, 5 stepsons, John T., Edward J., Jr., Christopher M. and James B. Duffner, all of New York, and Frederick G. Duffner in Pennsylvania, 24 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Her first husband Vincent Gonyon died in 1983. She was also predeceased by 2 brothers Russell and Harold Graham.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Arthur E. and Emma F. (Cox) Graham. Mrs. Duffner had been a clerk with the Registry of Motor Vehicles until her retirement. Previously she had worked as a clerk for U.S. Envelope. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and Girls Trade. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish and had been an Eucharistic Minister and altar server there. Mrs. Duffner had been a volunteer at Foothills Theater, the Leicester Senior Center, and was a member of the Our Lady of Loretto Guild and the 39ers Club at Coes Pond Village. She was loved by her family and enjoyed walking, swimming, reading, and line dancing.
The funeral is Thursday, April 8th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Liturgy of the Word, at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 7th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
