Alice Rhey Swaffer, age 96 of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, March 2, 2012. She was born on July 2, 1915 in Clarksville, TN to the late Rhey Boone and Emma Wofford Boone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Benton T. Swaffer; a daughter, Alice Swaffer; and a brother, Alvin Boone.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2 p.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rev. Mike Madewell officiating. Burial will be in Davidson Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Alice was a dedicated housewife. She was also a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Charles (Betty) Swaffer, William (Mary) Swaffer and Ed (Donna) Swaffer, all of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren, David Swaffer, Andy Swaffer, Lee Swaffer, Gary Swaffer, Ann Swaffer, Mark Swaffer and Edward Swaffer, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
