Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, MA Thursday at 8am. Funeral Blessing in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Stoughton at 9am. Burial in Coweeset Cemetery Brockton. Family and friends may visit Thursday 8-8:30am. A Pro Burial Mass will be held Monday April 12 in Our Lady of the Rosary Church at 9am.

Obituary

Lambert Dehner, husband of Rita E. (McPhee) Dehner, died April 4, 2004, at his home in Brockton, Massachusetts after a period of failing health. Mr. Dehner was born in Burlington, Iowa, son of the late Leo and Celestine (Miller) Dehner. He attended parochial schools in Burlington, Iowa and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Benedict’s College, Atchison, Kansas. He later did graduate work at Kansas State University and the University of Texas.He has resided in Brockton, Massachusetts since 1970 and worked as a Foreign Student Advisor at Northeastern University, Boston and later with various Social Service Agencies in Southeastern Massachusetts. Before moving to Brockton he worked at St. Benedict’s College in Atchison where he served as Dean of Students from 1963 to 1970. Prior to that he also was associated with the Benedictine Missions in Mexico City. While there he was actively engaged in the football program at National Polytechnic Institute from 1945 to 1953.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is survived by three brothers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Leo and Bernard Dehner, and his two sisters Mary Katherine McNassar and Sister Ada Dehner, OCD. Surviving brothers include Reverend Eugene Dehner, OSB, Atchison Kansas; Reverend Philip Dehner OCSO, Conyers, Georgia and Ray Dehner, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
