Oliver Delong, 84, of Clarksville, TN, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1927 in Davisport, Kentucky to the late Emery Delong and Elizabeth Mollette Delong. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Paige.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 12 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Steve Lannom. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with full military honors. Visitation will be Monday, March 5, 2012 from 9 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Oliver was a supply manager for Acme Boot Company. He was also a Tech SGT with the US Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Smith Delong of Clarksville, TN; three daughters, Lois (Ernest) Bannister of Plano, TX, Theresa (Robert) Howard of Dallas, TX, and Janet Bartee of Clarksville, TN; a brother, Arvel Delong; a sister, Ida Alice Fyffe; three grandchildren, Brian Oliver Sheppard, Damien Bartee, and Eric Bannister.
Military will serve as pallbearers.
