WORCESTER: Frances I. (O’Connor) Bovick, 90, formerly of Ashton St., died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Autumn Village, after a long illness. Her husband of 47 years, Vincent J. Bovick, died July 7, 1989.
She leaves her son, Robert J. Bovick and his wife Colleen of West Boylston; a brother, Timothy J. O’Connor of Leominster; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Hugh R. O’Connor and a sister, Phyllis E. Moge’, both predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Timothy J. and Blanche I. (Lecours) O’Connor, and was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Trade School.
Fran was an inspector at the Reed-Prentice Company during World War II. She previously worked as a printer at Shipmark Engraving. She was as a longtime member of St. Bernard's Church, now known as Our Lady of Providence Parish. She enjoyed crochet, knitting and playing Bingo.
CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 7 P.M. on FRIDAY, MARCH 2 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on SATURDAY, MARCH 3 in St. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. The family suggests donations in memory of Fran be made to Our Lady of Providence Food Pantry, 7 Auburn St., Worcester, MA 01605.
