Lorraine “Lori” (Medeiros) Mello, age 81 of N. Dartmouth & formerly of Fall River, passed away Feb. 27, 2012 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Normand P. Mello and the daughter of the late Alvarence & Cecilia (Botelho) Medeiros. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Mello worked for 28 years as a Cashier for the former Bradlees Department Store in Fall River. She previously worked at Zayre Department Store & Auerbach Robe Co. She was a member of the United Food Workers Union.
She is survived by her two daughters: Linda M. Almeida (husband Tony) of Fall River and Susan A. Mello of N. Dartmouth; granddaughters: Lynn Anne Almeida & Lora Marie Bradley (husband James), all of Fall River; siblings: Joseph Medeiros (wife Clara) of Swansea & Cecilia Franco (husband Ronald) of Fall River; several nieces, nephews, & great nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Oliver “Sam” Medeiros.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on FRIDAY here at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Rd., Westport at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours THURSDAY from 4-8 P.M. At Lorraines request, kindly omit flowers, a single Red Rose would be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to the Cyrena Lynn Rua Benefit Fund or to the Am. Diabetes Association.
