Ruth Christine Roberts Laminack, long time resident of Ocilla, died April 3, 2004 in Memphis, TN at the age of 94, after a brief illness. She was the widow of C.W. “Coot” Laminack.
Mrs. Laminack grew up Cleburne County, Alabama, before moving to Ocilla, GA where she resided until moving to Memphis in 1993.
She is survived by her son, Wilson J. Laminack of Memphis; three grand children: Chuck Laminack, Whiteville, TN, Mark Laminack, Cordova, TN, Joellyn Bellanti, Bartlett, TN and their spouses. Eight Great-Grandchildren and Six Great-Great-Grandchildren, Sisters-in-law Agnes Roberts, Augusta, GA and Flora Lee Sheffield, Savannah, GA. Twenty eight nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday April 7, 2004, 11 A.M., at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla. Interment will follow in the Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 9:30 Wednesday morning until the funeral hour. Brother Wayne McCrimmon, nephew, will officiate. Brother T.R. Mobley of Orlando a friend will assist.
Mrs. Laminack was preceded in death by her parents Hessie and Plasco Roberts, her brother, Grover Roberts and sisters, Clara Little Steed, Myrtle Abney, Mae Buttram and Grace Roberts.
Mrs. Laminack was a Baptist and attended Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church and was a member of the Sacred Harp Singers Association.
