Obituary

CHICOPEE – Audrey L. (Vandini) Belanger, 83, of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Monday, January 30, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life from Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home in West Springfield on August 3, 1928, a beloved daughter of the late Evo J. Vandini, Sr. and May G. (Perrault) Vandini. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and lived in the city for many years before moving to Chicopee in 1954. Active in her faith, Audrey was a communicant of Mary Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her devoted husband and best friend, Raymond A. Belanger. They were married on April 16, 1952 at the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 59 years of happiness together. She also leaves: her loving children, Lynn L. Belanger of Chicopee and Mark R. Belanger and his wife, Gail, of Belchertown; her two cherished grandchildren, whom she adored, Lauren N. Bolduc and her husband, Michael, of Ipswich, MA and Kyle M. Belanger of Belchertown; her dear sisters-in-law, Dorothy Vandini of Monson, Ann Vandini of Westfield, Barbara Belanger of Southbridge and Jacqueline Mancini and her husband, Felix, of Springfield; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by: her dear brothers, Evo J. Vandini, Jr. and Leland N. Vandini; and her dear brother-in-law, Donald J. Belanger. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, February 2, 2012 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107 (funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at Mary Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, East Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Fuller Road, Chicopee. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Chapin Chapel on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
