FLEMING ISLAND, FL - Donna R. (LaRochelle) Belanger, 67, of Fleming Island, Florida, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the loving care and comfort of her family. She was born in Springfield on August 2, 1944, a daughter of the late Freeman and Eunice (Jackson) LaRochelle. She was raised in Springfield and then lived in Chicopee for many years. She later lived in Maine, Maryland, and Florida. Donna worked for many years, often holding down more than one job. She worked at the Kellogg Brush Company in Easthampton and Chicopee, Deluxe Check Printers in Springfield and at the Christmas Tree Shops in Holyoke and South Portland, Maine. She enjoyed working with customers and loved her job from which she retired in 2004. She was an avid Red Sox fan and was elated when her favorite team won the World Series in 2004 and again in 2007. She was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves: her loving daughter, Dawn Abram and her husband, Brian of Fleming Island, FL; her four cherished grandchildren, Tayler Ferreira, Ben Abram, Lauren Abram and Ethan Abram; her brother, Richard LaRochelle and a family friend, Robert Barile, both of Kinderhook, NY; her sister, Barbara Schelb, of Chicopee; her sister-in-law, Cathy LaRochelle, of Chicopee and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by: her brother, William LaRochelle; her sister, Margo Hamel; and her brother-in-law, Donald Hamel. Her relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. followed at 4 p.m. by a Prayer Service at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private for her family. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
