DUDLEY – Madeleine E. (Casavant) Sitko, 94, of Dudley, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after a short illness. Her husband of 31 years, John Sitko, died in 1970.
She leaves a daughter, Janet M. Lavigne and her husband Richard of Webster; a son, Kenneth A. Sitko and his wife Janet of Dudley; 4 grandchildren, Todd and Chris Lavigne, and Stephanie and Steven Sitko. She was preceded in death by her 5 sisters.
She was born in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, a daughter of Telesphore and Bertha (Corbeil) Casavant and moved to West Dudley in her infancy, where she lived the rest of her life.
Mrs. Sitko was an inspector at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for many years before she retired in 1980.
She was a member of Saint Stephen’s Church in Quinebaug, CT. She liked to read and complete jigsaw puzzles. Her first love was her family.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St.,Webster. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family.
