Margaret Hudak McLaughlin, 91, of Olyphant, died Friday. Her husband was the late James McLaughlin.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Anna Mikovic Hudak, Margaret was a graduate of Olyphant High School. She was employed as a bridal consultant at Sullum's of Olyphant. As a devoted Catholic, she always made it a priority to be at weekly Mass as a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Church in Olyphant and then as a faithful member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church in Olyphant.
Margaret was granted her angel wings on Friday. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Margaret had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She embraced her family with unparalleled and unconditional love. She enjoyed going on vacations, especially to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room and was always ready for a good time.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Marie Walker, Olyphant; two granddaughters, Dana Walker, Jeffersonville; and Devin Walker, Peckville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, mary Bieszczad; and four brothers, Joseph, John, George and Edward Hudak.
The family especially thanks all the wonderful nurses and staff from Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center for their kind and caring support.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
