FALL RIVER … Albert R. “Rene” Berger, 90, of Fall River died Friday, February 24, 2012 after a brief illness. He died at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center.
He was the husband of Germaine (Mailloux) Berger.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Alfred and Angelina (Lamarre) Berger and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River where he was a member of their Holy Name Society and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus MSGR. Prevost Council #12380.
He was employed as an Auditor for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue retiring in 1987.
Mr. Berger served in the United States Army Air Corps during W.W.II. He attended Thibodeau Business School. He was a member of The First Friday Men’s Club and the American Legion both of Fall River.
Survivors include his wife, 2 sons: Daniel Berger of Fall River and Donald Berger of Cranston, RI, a sister Jeannette Ballard of Fall River, 2 grandchildren: Leanne Berger and Evan Berger, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Denise Berger.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River, MA. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours Tuesday 5 – 8 PM.
