Obituary

Paul Norman Dextraze, 68, of New Bedford died February 25, 2012 at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Jane (Barrett) Dextraze.
Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Norman Z. and Simone L. (Cote) Dextraze, he was raised in New Bedford, he lived in New Jersey for many years and returned to New Bedford five years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph-St. Therese Church.
Mr. Dextraze was formerly employed as the vice-president of manufacturing for Foamex Corp. until his retirement. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing, but most of all he loved being with his family and grandchildren.
Paul served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He graduated from Holy Family High School, obtained an Engineering degree from UMass Dartmouth, with post graduate studies at Syracuse University.
Survivors include his wife Jane; his son Marc C. Dextraze and his wife Nicole of NJ; his daughter, Jill Glynn and her husband Ciaran of NJ; his beloved grandchildren, twins Justin Paul and Jack Richard Dextraze, Christian James Dextraze and Ashley Jane Glynn; his uncle, Maurice Cote of Acushnet; his aunt, Florence Stone of NY; and many cousins.
Family will be receiving relatives and friends at St. Joseph - St. Therese Church on Tuesday, February 28th from 11:30 AM to 1 PM followed by his Funeral Mass at 1 PM. Collation will follow at the Century House. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 9376, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
