William R. Calvano Sr., age 74 of Fall River, passed away February 23, 2012. He was the husband of the late Collette (Fournier) Calvano and the son of the late William O. & Eve (St. Laurent) Calvano. Prior to retiring, Mr. Calvano worked for the Town of Tiverton in the Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Department. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1958 in Casablanca. He enjoyed fishing on his boat “Fishtales”, was a founding member of the Bowling Green Fishing Club, and a member of the St. John’s Fishing Club.
He is survived by his children: Robin Hallisey (husband Richard) of Somerset, William R. Calvano Jr. of Berkley, and Christopher M. Calvano (wife Kristy) of Fall River; 5 grandchildren: Keith, Shawn, Jesse, Jeffrey, & Sidney; his siblings: Cheryl DeCosta of Fall River, Judith Raposa of Westport, Michael Calvano of Fall River, & Douglas Calvano of Ohio; several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Bruce Calvano & Patricia Bernier.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on TUESDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 A.M.
