Beverly: John R. Coogan, 81, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in the Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Baker) Coogan.
Born in Boston on April 23, 1930, he was the son of the late John R. and Gertrude (Garey) Coogan. He has resided in Beverly for the past forty years.
John was one of the founding members of the “Friends of the Beverly Public Library” and also served on the financial committee for the addition to the library. He also devoted over 10,000 hours working in the emergency room at Beverly Hospital. He was a great world traveler and history buff.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jonathan Coogan. He was also predeceased by his twin sons, Gregory and Geoffrey Coogan.
His funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
