Obituary

CHICOPEE – Carol Ann (Robertson) Hale, 76, of the Fairview section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Saturday, February 4, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Worcester on October 8, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Harry H. and Mary E. (Nichols) Robertson. She was raised and schooled in Worcester and moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1968. She was last employed as a waitress at Denny’s Restaurant on Memorial Drive in Chicopee and was previously employed at the former Zayre’s Department Store on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. During her quiet time at home, Carol was always ready for a good game of cards. She was a devoted woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Chester K. Hale. They were married on July 30, 1955 at Saint Paul Church in Worcester and were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. She also leaves: her loving children, Kenneth W. Hale and his wife, Linda, of West Chicago, IL, Mary-Ann Mansfield and her husband, John, of Chicopee and Sandi Nomakeo and her husband, Bob of Easthampton; her six cherished grandchildren who affectionately called her “Meme”, Taylor Mansfield, Dominick Nomakeo, Katy Anderson and her husband, Ryan, Kara Hale, Stacy Ward and Brian Ward; her dear brothers and sister, Edmond Robertson and his wife, Elena and Evelyn Johnston, all of Auburn, MA, Ronald Robertson and his wife, Pauline of Pompano Beach, FL and William Robertson and his wife, Rita, of Sutton, MA; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her family would like to thank her nurse, Steve, from Hospice Life Care for his compassionate care during her long journey home. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, February 9, 2012 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:45 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
