“Dottie” Dorothy B. (Brown) Gosselin, of Stoneham, formerly of Malden died at home on Wednesday. She was 88.
Dottie was born and raised in Medford, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Elizabeth (Murphy) Brown. A beautiful and gracious woman who grew up in the Fulton Heights section of Medford, Dottie put her artistic side to good use whether as a window dresser for Jordan Marsh or as a dance instructor at Arthur Murray’s School of Dance. She was an accomplished painter and dedicated social worker who advocated for early childhood education. A one-time member of parents without partners, Dottie lived in Malden for most of her life. A charming and gracious friend to many, Dottie’s professional and artistic accomplishments where secondary to her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren.
The beloved wife of the late Major Frank J. Gosselin, Jr., she was a devoted mother to Clifford Cioffi and Bobbi of Malden, Carole Sartor and her husband Steve of Andover, Albert Cioffi, Jr of Windham, NH, Cathy Powers and Bruce Arlington of Newburyport. She was a loving grandmother of Rikki, Taryn, Randy, Brendan, Charlee and a dear sister of the late Charles, Clifford and Robert Brown of Medford.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family Wednesday, February 29th, at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, at 3 PM followed by a service in the funeral home at 4 PM. Dottie’s celebration of life will then continue at Anthony’s of Malden on 105 Canal St, Malden.
