Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting Hours Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8pm. Donations in his name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Association, 220 Main Street, Natick MA 01760.

Lionel L. Houle, Jr. of Brockton, husband of Patricia (Colwell) Houle died at home Friday night after a period of ill health.
Born in Providence, RI son of the late Lionel L. and Irene (Veilleux) Houle, he was raised in West Warwick, RI. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1953 and went on to complete four years at the Illinois College of Optometry. He began his optical career at Montgomery Frost Lloyd’s in Boston, went on to manage the Community Opticians office in Brockton and retired from BJ’s Optical in 2001.
Mr. Houle also followed an active career in real estate where he was mainly associated with Edgar D. Fulton Realtors. He was a past president of the Brockton Taxpayers Association. In his free time he enjoyed the ocean, boating and jazz.
In addition to his wife he leaves five children, Denise Hill of West Palm Beach FL, Jeffrey and Brian Houle of Brockton, D’Anne Rooslet of Brockton and Michelle Shipman of Rutland MA and five grandchildren. He was the father of the late Jonathan Houle.
