Valeda D. (Guilbert) St. Amand 98, Formerly of Cumberland and a long time resident of Woonsocket died Wednesday in the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Centre. She was the wife of the late William Baillargeon and the late Oscar St. Amand. She was born in St. Hyacinthe, PQ, Canada, a daughter of the late Louis and Orise ( Lambert) Guilbert.
Mrs. St. Amand was a sales clerk at McCarthy's Dept. Store for many years retiring in 1975. She also worked as a cook in the Holy Family Rectory in Woonsocket for twelve years, and was a member of the Holy Family Senior Citizens Group.
She is survived by a daughter Pauline Belisle of North Smithfield, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. St. Amand was the sister of the late Raoul, Paul, and Lucien Guilbert.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00AM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St, Woonsocket, with a service in the funeral home at10:00. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
