Mr. Richard M. Piemonte, age 61, a life long resident of Medford passed away Thursday, April 1st, following a lengthy illness. Born in Medford he was the son of the late Mildred (Munkittrick) and Pellegrino Piemonte. Richard was the beloved husband of Paula (Federico) Piemonte.
Richard was a 1965 graduate of Boston College. Retiring in 2000, Richard worked for thirty-five years as an auditor for the United States Government Defense Contract Audit Agency. Richard was also very active at St. Joseph Church in Medford, where he served as a lector and taught CCD and also worked with the CYO Programs. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Richard was devoted to his family and church, but was also an avid sports fan and loved to follow Boston's professional teams and the Boston College Eagles.
In addition to his beloved wife Paula, Richard is survived by two children, Maria and Richard Piemonte both of Medford. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Eisenzopf of Fitchburg and his brother, Robert Piemonte of Bridgewater.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church 118 High St. Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
