Roger D. Fotino age 68 of Hampstead, NH, formerly of Salem, NH, died Thursday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA.
He was born in Wakefield, MA, where he grew up and attended schools and graduated from Wakefield High School, where he was inducted into the football hall of fame. He was a resident of Hampstead for the past 18 years, formerly of Salem, NH.
Mr. Fotino was a heavy equipment operator for Pandelina Construction Company of Hampstead, NH. He was a former member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH, and a former member of the Wakefield Elks Lodge.
He was a US Air Force Veteran, who was called to duty during the Cuban Missle Crisis. Mr. Fotino was an excellent football player and was considered one of the best high school football players and received several awards. He later played Semiprofessional football with the Washington Redskins. He was an avid gardener and loved playing with his grandchildren. He was also known as a great handy man who could fix anything.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead, NH.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
