Pamela A. Paragona, age 60, of Abington, passed away peacefully, at home, with her family at her side on February 19, 2012, after a yearlong, courageous battle with cancer.
Pam was the devoted wife to Lou Paragona, to whom she was married to for 40 years, and the loving mother of her daughters, Holly Messner and her husband Mark of Kansas City, MO. and Nicole Paragona of Abington. She is the daughter of Marjorie and the late Victor Lescynski of Abington. She is the daughter-in-law of Louise and the late Frank Paragona of Arlington. Dear sister of Paula Davidson and her husband John of Abington and her brother Mark Lescynski of Rockland. Sister in law of Connie Mulcahy and her husband Richard of Plymouth; Frank Paragona and Cindy of Arlington; Linda Schuster and her husband Walter of Tewksbury; Janet Sheehan and her husband Bill of Claremont, NH and Jim Paragona of Westminster. Pam is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and her grand-dog, Cosmo.
Pam enjoyed every phase of her varied working career. She was a 14 year employee of the New England Telephone Company. She also worked as a school bus driver, a deli clerk, and for the last 15 years as a dental office assistant. Pam was an active volunteer, having been a Brownie leader, a Confirmation teacher and an AHS Music Parent. Pam was also a talented calligrapher. She addressed thousands of wedding invitations over the years. Although Pam did many things, she most enjoyed being a mother to her loving daughters and a friend to many.
Pam’s hobbies included traveling. She enjoyed her road trips with Lou and her summer vacations to Newfound Lake. She also fondly remembered her trips to Italy, London, and frequent trips to Kansas City.
Pam will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 10:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, MA followed by a funeral mass at 11:00AM in the St. Bridget Church, Plymouth Street, Abington. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington, MA.
Relatives and friends are respectively invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday February 22nd from 4–8 PM
