Glenn Gillespie , age 79, of Ocilla, GA passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Mr. Gillespie was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Theras Vickers Gillespie. He served in the
U.S. Army during Korean Conflict. Mr. Gillespie was formerly employed at Sims Funeral Home.
Mr. Gillespie is survived by: one daughter, Bernice Burch, of West Green, GA; one son, Steve Gillespie, of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Harley Gillespie, of Douglas, GA, and Vick Gillespie, of Douglas, GA.; two sisters, Alma Busby, of Douglas, GA, and Audrey Dahm, of Douglas, GA; seven grandchildren. He was preceded, in death by three brothers McKinley Gillespie, Thomas Gillespie, and Loren, one sister Norma Spell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Evelyn Cox and Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Interment followed at Bethel Church Cemetery, with U.S. Army providing military honors.
