WORCESTER:
Anita (Benoit) Gregoire, 105, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 19, at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester.
Her husband of 47 years Hervey P. Gregoire died in 1993. She leaves her daughter Anne-Marie Glavickas and her husband Mat of Holden, a grandson Alan Glavickas of Worcester, a granddaughter Lori Berkstresser and her husband Jack of Rochdale and three great grandchildren Jake Glavickas a member of the US Army stationed in Texas, Noah and Eryn Berkstresser. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Gustave and Anna (Cofsky) Benoit and stepdaughter of Octavie (St. Germain) Benoit. She was predeceased by her brother Norman Benoit.
She lived in Worcester most of her life. She worked at White Cleaners for many years and retired in 1971 as House Mother for the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed doing crafts and in her early years made several braided rugs. Anita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her beautiful smile and grace will be missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to thank the hospice staff and nurses on the first floor at Beaumont Nursing Center for the care given to Anita.
Friends and relative are invited to attend calling hours from 8:30 to 9:30 am. in J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer on Thursday February 23rd,followed by a Mass at 10:00 in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery in Spencer. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Daily Mass, 49 Elm St., Worcester, MA 01609.
