CHARLTON – Richard R. Desrosiers, 47, of 3 North Main Street died Thursday, April 1 at home.
He leaves his parents Richard H. Desrosiers of Holland and Claire Burack of Worcester; a son Richard Curtis of Southbridge; a daughter Michelle Desrosiers of Worcester; a sister Diane Haynes of Spencer and a grandson Tristan Ardvini of Worcester.
He worked at Crellen Equipment in Millbury and previously worked at Sunnyside Ford for 25 years as a mechanic.
He was a Licensed Nascar Driver, in 1986 he received the most improved driver, the rookie of the year and true value mechanic of the year, in 1989 he won Championships at Monadnock Speedway in New Hampshire and Riverside Speedway in Massachusetts, in 1998 he won the Ice Breaker at Thompson Speedway in his Pro 4 Modified. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the Red Sox’s and Patriots.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 5 at 1:30 PM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be from Noon to 1 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.RoyFuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.
