Mrs. Mary Dolores (Rogers) McQuade, a resident of Andover since 1956 and beloved wife of the late Thomas D. McQuade died at the Lawrence General Hospital on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. She was 89 years old.
She was born in Cambridge, New York, on August 24, 1922, the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Alice (Mulligan) Rogers. Mary was a graduate of the Greenwich Public School system in Greenwich, New York, and graduated from the College of New Rochelle in 1944. She also received a CdM degree from Salem State College in 1969 and did graduate work at Boston University. Mary dedicated her life to children through raising her own children, teaching, serving in the PTA and leading many scouting troops. Over the years, Mrs. McQuade was a member of the American Association of University Women, Vesper Country Club, the Andover Skating Club and Friends of Merrimack College.
She will be sorely missed by her loving children; Thomas, Mary Alice, Timothy, John and Christopher and five grandchildren; Maura, Conor, Shaunalee, Erin and Breann.
Funeral services were privately held. Donations in her name may be made to Children"s Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115. Arrangements were entrusted to the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home of Andover.
