Mrs. Elaine R. Paglia, age 89, a longtime Wilmington resident, peacefully passed away on February 17th at the Winchester Hospital following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Paglia and together shared 62 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2006. Born in Cotuit on October 26, 1922 she was the daughter of the late John H. and Vera (Williams) Gay.
Elaine was a Wilmington resident for well over fifty years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother. She was a talented cook and enjoyed preparing fantastic meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling with friends for many years, doing needlework and crocheting, line dancing and was a veracious reader. For many years Elaine and her family loved to regularly vacation and spend time on Cape Cod. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family and friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Prior to her recent declining health she was very active at the Buzzell Senior Center where she enjoyed the company of many friends.
Along with her late husband and parents, Elaine is predeceased by her brother, the late John H. Gay Jr.
She is survived by her cherished sons, Gerald A. Paglia and his wife Diane of Lowell, and Kenneth F. Paglia of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of Michael, Marc, and Michelle Paglia, Victoria LaCount, Andrew and Regina Paglia. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Justin, Evan, Errol, Terry, Vincent and Cameron.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Tuesday, February 21st, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Monday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Elaine's memory to the Dept. of Elder Service, c/o Buzzell Senior Center, 15 School St., Wilmington, MA 01887.
