Marie A. (Comportie) Devlin, 67, of New Bedford died Thursday February 16, 2012 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Joseph H. Devlin.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Antone and Avelina (Sylvia) Comportie, she lived in New Bedford for all of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church.
Mrs. Devlin was formerly employed as a cafeteria cook for the New Bedford Public School Department.
She enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Ann-Marie DaSilva and her husband Manuel of New Bedford and Joseph P. Devlin and his wife Kim of Chesapeake, Virginia; and four grandchildren, Nina DaSilva, Manuel DaSilva, Jr., Connor Devlin, and Joseph R. Devlin.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Nurse and Hospice Care, P.O.
