Obituary

Mrs. Jennie E. (Dutra) Machado, of East Taunton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 15 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward O. Machado. She was born 94 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Domingo and Rosella (Morin) Dutra. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at both the former Taunton Dog Track and the Raynham/Taunton Dog Track for 35 years. Jennie enjoyed visiting New Hampshire with her late husband, playing bingo, Keno and the lottery, dining out and having desserts, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Church in East Taunton.
She leaves: 2 daughters: Anne Tichelaar of Middleboro, and Carol Ennes and her husband, Edward of Raynham; 1 sister: Dorothy Goulet of Taunton; 2 daughters-in-law: Kathy D. Machado of Troy, N.H., and Doreen Machado of East Taunton; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Jennie was also the mother of the late Edward O. Machado, Jr., James Machado, and Maureen F. Machado, the great grandmother of the late Kyle Tichelaar, and the sister of the late Joseph, Alfred, Francis, George, Edward and Ida Dutra, Eva Frazier, and Marion Bigelow.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, February 21 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Family Church, East Taunton, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
