
Linda J. (Orfao) Belanger, age 56, of Ashland, a devoted wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend, died on Wednesday night, February 14, 2012 at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a long illness.
Born in Cambridge on October 15, 1955, she was the daughter of Eugenia “Jean” (Correia) Orfao of Port Charlotte, FL, and North Falmouth, and the late Joseph Orfao. Linda was raised in Belmont and attended Mount Trinity Academy. She was 1973 graduate of Belmont High School and continued her education at LaSalle Junior College in Newton.
Linda was employed for many years with her mother as a designer at Flowers By Jean in Cushing Square, Belmont. She later earned accreditation as a certified pharmacy technician and happily worked at Walgreens in Framingham until her health worsened. It was Linda’s goal and great hope to return one day to her profession. Married since 1994, she had met her husband while both were vacationing in Florida. The couple lived for a short time in Framingham prior to settling in Ashland. Linda cherished being a mom and being an active member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed fitness training, yoga, and bicycling.
In addition to her mother, Linda is survived by her husband, Richard N. Belanger, Jr.; their son, Ryan Richard Belanger of Ashland; a brother, David Orfao and his wife Mary Beth of Concord; a niece, Alex; and a nephew, Tyler.
Her funeral services will be in Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 39 East Central Street (Rte. 135), Natick, on Saturday, Feb. 18th at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street (at Natick Common), Natick, on Friday 4 – 7p.m.
