PROVIDENCE — Jo-Ann Mary Santos, 67, of New Bedford, passed away on Feb. 14, 2012, 10:30 p.m., at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. She was the wife of Antone Santos Jr., to whom she was married for 48 years.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Theresa Hirth, daughter-in-law of Maria C. Santos and the late Antone Santos, Sr. and sister of the late Emil and Paul Hirth.
Jo-Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Jo-Ann is survived by her husband, Antone Santos Jr.; and her three sons, Antone Santos and his wife, Leonor Santos of New Bedford, Michael Santos and his wife, Marcia Santos of Fall River and Robert Santos and his wife, Pamela Santos of Lutz, Florida. She is also survived by six grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Friday, February 17th from 6-8 p.m., in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., at the corner of Elm St., New Bedford. Funeral from the funeral home at 8 a.m. Saturday morning followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m., at St. Lawrence Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
