Robert "Bob" W. Biletzke, husband of Patricia Biletzke, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012.
He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., the son of the late William and Pauline Biletzke. He was a graduate of Mckee Technical Vocational High School, Staten Island.
After graduation, he entered the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Odax. After being honorably discharged, Bob worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1989. He most recently worked as a bus aide for the town of Groton and was affectionately known as "Mr. Bob" by all of the kids.
He is survived by his wife and four children, Robin Heard, Pauline Gaucher and husband, Bob, William "Bill" Biletzke and wife, Lisa, Laurie Maciag and husband, Rick; nine grandchildren, Nicole and Rachel Heard, Christian and Tanner Gaucher, Haley, Emily, and Zachary Biletzke, and Kaitlyn and Danielle Maciag. He is also survived by his "adopted" daughter, LeeAnn Nardiello and grandaughter, Isabella.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 4-7pm. A Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at the Lambtown Cemetery, Lambtown Road, Ledyard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Salvation Army, the Hatian Health Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice .
