Methuen, MA – Margaret “Elaine” (Fluet) Deschene, 75, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family. She is the wife of Walter G. Deschene, to whom she was married for 53 years.
Elaine was born in Methuen on December 9, 1936, the daughter of Edward and Lucy (McHenry) Fluet. She attended Mt. Carmel Grammar School and graduated from Tenney High School.
A lifetime Methuen resident, she worked in the courtesy booth at Market Basket for 35 years. She was also a member of our Lady of Good Counsel Parish and a former Socialite member of St. Theresa’s Church in Methuen.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters Darlene F. Gaudette and her husband Mark of Dracut and Denise E. Schindler of Hampstead, NH, a granddaughter Kara L. Gaudette and her finance Jason Bowles and a grandson Kurt W. Schindler, many nieces and nephews, and neighborhood friends. She is predeceased by three brothers William, Roger, and Raymond Fluet and a sister Rita Fluet.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday morning at 11 o’clock at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish of Methuen. Burial will be private.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
