Ruth B. (Stewart) Pirner 88, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home with her family by her side, Sunday February 12, 2012 following an illness. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Pirner who died in 2001.
Born February 10, 1924 in South Orange, New Jersey, a daughter of the late James L. and Elizabeth (Steel) Stewart, she was a former longtime resident of Basking Ridge, New Jersey before coming to Franklin a year ago.
She was raised and educated in Maplewood, New Jersey where she was a graduate of Columbia High School, upon graduating she enrolled in the Orange Memorial Hospital Nursing program and became a registered nurse.
She enjoyed gardening, going to libraries, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Caren M. Lindner of Franklin, and Cathryn Kawakami of New Jersey, a brother James Stewart of Illinois, and a sister Polly Stern of Washington State. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Charlie & Kristy Lindner of Franklin and Lauren & Kevin Kawakami of New Jersey.
Her funeral service and interment will be held privately.
