Bruce W. Duarte, Jr., 43, of Attleboro, died Tuesday February 14, 2012 at Lahey Clinic after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Bruce W. Duarte of New Bedford and the late Ronda S. (Fontes) Duarte, he had lived in Attleboro for 10 years.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in New Bedford.
Bruce was employed as a cook at several soup kitchens in Attleboro. He enjoyed drawing, cooking, and talking to family and friends on the phone.
Survivors include his father; two brothers, Robert Duarte of Honolulu, HI, and Joseph Santos of Boston; three sisters, Dana Duarte Pina and her husband Larry and Erin Duarte, all of New Bedford, and Erleen Hughes of Norfolk, VA; his grandmother, Elizabeth Duarte of New Bedford; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, February 17th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, February 16th from 4-8 PM.
