Glen Dale “Moody Boy” Sanders, 50, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, February 12, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Ricky Kellum officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Rebecca. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Sanders was born October 13, 1961 in Bartow, Florida to Mary Ann Moody Sanders and the late Billy Lee Sanders. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1993 from Bartow, FL. Mr. Sanders was a former mechanic for W.L.’s Auto Parts and Auto Sales, a former employee of the City of Ocilla and of Golden Gem Growers in Florida. He built racecars and raced at Auburndale Speedway in Florida, enjoyed fishing, painting whatnots, playing the Wii, traveling and spending time with his family. Mr. Sanders attended Abundant Life Church.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Willis Sanders of Fitzgerald; mother, Marry Ann Moody Sanders of Fitzgerald; children, Charlie “Mack” & Joni Willis, Glen Dale, Jr. & Jennifer Sanders and Tracy Rhem, all of Fitzgerald and Frances & Randy Gaddy of Waynesboro, NC; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Wilburn Lee & Karen Sanders of Fitzgerald, Billy Wayne Sanders of Bartow, FL, Donald Sanders of Cairo and Michael Sanders of Fitzgerald; sisters, Annie Watts of Fitzgerald, Reber & Jimmy Byrd of Ocilla, Sheila & Tim Sheppard of Fitzgerald, Jane & Calvin Mitchell of Rochelle, Christy Dietzel of Fitzgerald and Eva Sanders of Rochelle as well as several nieces and nephews.
